PASSION DISTRIBUTION'S CONJOINED SERIES SECURES SALES SUCCESS WITH TWIN VERSION
2nd May, 2013 - Following on from BBC Three's UK premiere of ABBY & BRITTANY: COLLEGE AND BEYOND (3 x 60'), Passion Distribution is pleased to announce it has secured sales for the new version of the series in the Netherlands (RTL), Israel (YES) and Sweden, where a deal is currently being finalised.
The title was originally sold as an 8 x 30' series and has seen sales into Australia (Foxtel), France (NT1), Germany (RTL2), Denmark (DRTV), Norway (FEM), Czech Republic (FTV Prima), Poland (Discovery) and Russia & CIS (Discovery). It was picked up and re-versioned into its recent 3 part, hour-long format through a collaboration between BBC Three, the original US producer, Figure 8 Films and Passion Distribution. The first episode was broadcast on the 25th April, outperforming the channel’s slot average.
The series follows conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel, the extraordinary girls who 'share' a body and have now graduated from college, learnt to drive, moved out and are heading towards their first teaching job. The title is the third in a series of documentaries the twins have featured in, as they have grown up and beaten the survival odds associated with their remarkable condition.
JOINED FOR LIFE (1 x 60') and JOINED FOR LIFE: SWEET SIXTEEN (1 x 60') are also produced by Figure 8 Films and distributed internationally by Passion Distribution and follow the girls in the earlier stages of their lives.
